So yeah, there’s now a basic Wii U emulator available, and it’s likely that support for the more mainstream titles for the system (Mario Kart 8, Mario 3D World, Smash Bros for Wii U) isn’t too far off either. New Super Mario Bros U and NES Remix seem to work fine for example: It’s not exactly anywhere near complete (the emulator lacks audio support and crashes when trying to play more complex titles like Mario 3D World), but it’s definitely far enough along that Nintendo might have reason to start getting worried. Called Cemu and released on GBATemp earlier today, the program can run standard games for the system with keyboard controls and a 1920×1080 resolution. as the Zelda BotW or Mario Kart 8), Cemu became one of the best alternatives. Quite a lot of the emulators that we cover here on Retro Dodo are open source programs capable of being updated by other users. If people have had this issue before, surely somebody has made or has considered creating a solution. I know there is a way to get passed mario kart 8's loading screen issue. I realize other people have asked questions related to this issue but I never saw a fix for their issues. This felt like a promising advancement but it really wasn't. However, there was one homebrew app called "Spiik" which changed mario kart 8's loading screen issue from ending in a loud abrupt noise to a never ending loop of engine noises. No homebrew software fixed the issue of not being able to actually load mario kart 8. I used all kinds of region-lock related homebrew apps. Great news for emulation fans today, as the developers of the Wii U emulator ‘CEMU’ seem to have gotten Mario Kart. the game wouldn't leave the initial loading menu. As exciting as this accomplishment was, there was one issue. I changed the region code in a system xml file in my wii u' system files and was able to successfully initiate the game booting process via the disk application. I was worried initially that it wouldn't run on my pal region wii u (and it didn't.) I decided I wanted to make my wii u region free. A friend of mine recently gave me his usa copy of mario kart 8.
